Last week we were part of the ESC conference in San Jose; it was our final exhibition of 11 this year in which we presented our modules. Phew! They’ve been fun, but we’re also pleased that the Christmas break is right around the corner. It has been a demanding year of exhibiting, but a successful one, and we’ve met a lot of interesting people.

At ESC we showcased our new Mercury+ AA1 module, based on the Altera Arria 10 SoC, and the Mercury+ XU1, which is currently available with a Xilinx UltraScale+ ZU9EG ES2 engineering sample. The XU1 is a powerful beast, with up to 600,000 system logic cells, 6 ARM cores and an integrated Mali-400 MP2 graphics accelerator.

Enclustra Mercury+ XU1 Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ module

Our very first Xilinx® Zynq® UltraScale+™ MPSoC module, the Mercury+ XU1, has made its much-anticipated public debut! It took its bow as part of a live-streaming 4K camera at the Vision Fair in Stuttgart, developed together with our partner AntMicro.

The XU1 is truly a beast; it's our most powerful SoC module, and offers a set of peripherals and interfaces that could make an engineer think Christmas has come early. In addition to the Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC, the module has fast DDR4 ECC SDRAM, eMMC flash, quad SPI flash, dual Gigabit Ethernet PHY, dual USB 3.0 and a real-time clock. Enclustra Mercury+ AA1 Intel Arria 10 module

We’d like to proudly announce that our first Mercury+ AA1 modules have arrived. It’s our first module based on Altera's Arria 10 ARM processor-based SoC FPGA; it combines a powerful and space-saving embedded processing system with up to 8 GByte of high-bandwidth DDR4 ECC SDRAM memory and many more impressive goodies.

The AA1 is also our second SoC module in the new Mercury+ form-factor, which adds a third 168-pin Hirose FX10 connector to the standard two found on Mercury modules. Not to worry though: the addition doesn't come at the cost of increased size; the module is still smaller than a credit card, measuring in at 74 × 54 mm.

Enclustra Mercury+ XU1 Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ module

Our very first Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ SoC module, the Mercury+ XU1, just went into production and we're very excited to get our hands on it. The module combines Xilinx's Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC-series device with fast DDR4 ECC SDRAM, eMMC flash, quad SPI flash, dual Gigabit Ethernet PHY, dual USB 3.0, an RTC and 294 user I/Os in a package smaller than a credit card (74 × 54 mm).

The Mercury+ KX2 has arrived

Enclustra Mercury+ KX2 Xilinx Kintex-7 module

The first Mercury+ KX2 prototypes have arrived - and they look rather good. It's our first FPGA module in the new Mercury+ form-factor, which adds a third 168-pin Hirose FX10 connector to the standard two found on Mercury modules. This doesn't come at the cost of increased size, though - the module is still a petite 74 × 54 mm.

The Mercury+ KX2 is based on the Xilinx® Kintex®-7 family. The compact module, which boasts 216 user I/Os and many standard interfaces, is equipped to handle even the most demanding of applications, with a high memory bandwidth of up to 12.5 GByte/sec. The module’s 216 user I/Os, 2 GByte DDR3L SDRAM and 64 MByte quad SPI flash combine to form a truly high-performance processing unit. The Mercury+ KX2 is equally well-suited for high-end digital signal processing, communications and networking, and high-speed I/O applications.

A myriad of interfacing options are also available: 8 MGTs with a data transfer rate of up to 10.3125 Gbit/sec, PCIe® Gen2 x8, dual Gigabit Ethernet, and USB 2.0. The module is available in both commercial and industrial temperature ranges, and needs just a single 5-15 V supply for operation.
