Enclustra at All Programmable PLC2 Days 2014
All Programmable PLC2 Days 2014 takes place between the 20th and 22nd of May 2014 in Stuttgart; Enclustra's Martin Heimlicher will be speaking about FPGA Manager, our comprehensive solution for communicating between host PC and FPGA over a number of protocols with one simple API. A schedule for all 3 days of the event and further information can be found on the official website.
Zynq design from scratch
The Mars ZX3 SoC module was the first commercially available Xilinx Zynq-based off-the-shelf board. Together with the Mars PM3 base board it builds an attractive and flexible development solution witch also provides an easy path for production volumes even for industrial temperature range applications. In his blog Zynq design from scratch Sven Andersson gives a sneak peak at this interesting solution. Click through for an interesting read.
Profinet IRT Core on Zynq in action
Enclustra, in collaboration with Xilinx and InES Institute of Embedded Systems of the School of Engineering, presented the new Profinet RT/IRT Device Solution at SPS/IPC/Drives 2014. In case you missed it, get up to speed with the advanced capabilities of Profinet with Professor Hans Doran here.
DVI module for Mars ZX3 enables full HD on Linux
The Mars ZX3 system-on-chip (SoC) module combines Xilinx's Zynq-7020 All Programmable SoC, consisting of a dual-core Cortex-A9 ARM processor and an Artix-7 FPGA fabric, with fast DDR3 SDRAM, NAND flash, quad SPI flash, Gigabit Ethernet PHYs, USB and a real-time clock. This all-round processing platform can run Linux and Android just as well as it can a RTOS. It is desirable to also have some decent graphical output apart from the 7″ touch panel shown in the Android Demo (see Video). Thinking of that, the embedded software specialist Antmicro has produced a DVI module for Mars ZX3 – so now you can enjoy a full HD Linux experience with the Zynq module.
